Please check your child's bag for the NHS flu vaccination letter and return it to school if required.  Thank you.

Week commencing 25th September.  We are really looking forward to next week!  The children and staff are SO excited to be going to Beaumanor.  Those children not attending will have a terrific time in school with Mrs. Finlayson on Wednesday and with Mrs. Alcock on Thursday.  On Friday Penguins and Turtles who are not at Beaumanor will join Whales, Dolphins or Seals.

Before we get to Beaumanor though, we have our NSPCC Sponsored Workout on Monday afternoon.  If, for some reason, you have not got a Sponsor form, let your class teacher know. The five Year 2 classes will be undertaking circuit training in teams.

Week commencing 18th September.  In Year 2 we will be sharing the book "Aliens love Underpants" and beginning to look at the book "The Way Back Home".  We will be sharing what we think about the stories and listening to the views of others.  In Maths we will be focussing on subtraction and our ScienceTopic next week looks at natural and man-made materials and materials to be used for a particular purpose.

We have now started our daily phonics lessons (from Tuesday to Friday) and the children are getting used to going to their respective classes for this.

Aliens crashed in our woodland area!  We carefully looked for clues of their whereabouts in the wreckage of their space ship.

Penguin Class have had a brilliant start to Year 2! We have found mysterious aliens in the woodland area, investigated how to stop ice from melting on far away planets, written our own version of the story 'Aliens Love Underpants', painted beautiful self portraits to decorate our classroom and measured items using different equipment!

Dolphin Class have had a busy start to the year. We have learned about oceans and continents, explored the landmarks in our playground, worked out number bonds, found out about units of measure and investigated the best materials to insulate an ice cube as well as doing lots of fabulous writing.
