It has been a great week, learning about Christmas and enjoying the Christingle service from Carol and Father Tim from St Leonards church. They dressed Mrs Anscombe up as a Christingle! and we performed some of our Christmas Nativity songs for them.
Thank you for your support with the 'read with your child' morning on Thursday 6th December, it was lovely to see so many parents/carers read with the children.
We have also been practising hard for our Nativity which you can all see; on Tuesday 11th December at 2.30pm for Dragonflies, Ladybirds and Fireflies and on Wednesday 12th December at 2.30pm for Butterflies and Bumblebees. Please present your ticket on arrival as spaces are limited. (These were given out last week, 2 x tickets per child).
We have the Elf walk also to look forward to next week which is taking place on Friday 15th December at 1pm. This is something we do every year; a lap (around the lake at Wollaton park) for Lapland raising money for the 'Wish upon a star' charity. If you want to take part in the walk please speak to your child's class teacher as I'm sure they would love your support.
Yes, it's creeping up on us! We are starting Christmas in F2 and in full preparation for our Christmas Nativity, which don't forget is; Tuesday 11th December at 2.30pm for Fireflies, Ladybirds and Dragonflies and Wednesday 12th December at 2.30pm for Bumblebees and Butterflies. Tickets have been given to your child, so please check their book bags.
We had a great week learning about different careers and we enjoyed visits from surgeons to Police officers. Thank you everybody that could help and spare time to pop into school to talk to the children about their jobs. Take a look at some photos from Butterfly Class.
What a week it's been!
Children in Need saw us all wearing pyjamas and spots, eating cakes and raising lots of money for the charity. We also have been enjoying careers week and loved having visitors in and listening to them about their different roles. Photos to follow! Thank you for all your support with both these events.
We had a great Diwali party last Friday and enjoyed dressing up in our party clothes and dancing to Indian music. Take a look at some of our photos.
We are also enjoying our topic on Space and will be continuing with this topic for this week. We are also learning about different jobs and careers, so if you fancy coming into school on Wednesday afternoon (or another convenient time) to talk about the job you do please let your child's class teacher know and they can arrange a convenient time for you to come in and share your role.
We have had a great half term and really settled in well to Foundation. Take a look at some of our pictures to see what we have been up to. Don't forget next half term will be parents evening and we have our Christmas play to prepare for.
As we are learning about dinosaurs next week, it would be really great if the children could bring in a dinosaur book they might have at home (non-fiction or fiction).
Please make sure your child's name is in the book so that when we have finished looking at them we can hand them back correctly!
Don't forget to start using Education City. Usernames and passwords should all be in reading diaries. If you have any queries about using it please speak to your child's class teacher.
Don't forget the 'Help your child at home' meeting on Wednesday 19th September at 6pm
