Autumn 2018

Another fantastic week in year 2! The children have worked so hard to learn all the songs and poems for their Festival of Christmas. Weren't they just wonderful? We were all very proud of them. Thank you all for coming and for your support. We look forward to seeing you again on Friday for the Wish upon a Star Elf Walk.

Festival of Christmas - Wednesday 5th December 2018

Turtles and Whales will be performing at 9.30am

Seals, Dolphins and Penguins will be performing at 2.00pm

We will look forward to seeing you there :-)

I wonder what we are learning about next week in year 2...take a look :-)

The children have enjoyed our Great Fire of London topic over the past two weeks.

We have compared 1666 with 2018 and used drama to imagine what life must have been like to help us write fantastic descriptive diary entries.

We were very excited to receive a visit from Nottingham Fire Service. The children thought of sensible questions to ask and now know how they can be fire safe at home.

Great enthusiastic learning year 2!

What a fantastic first week back! The children have been working so hard and we cannot wait for you to come and see all their hard work during your parents' evening.

An exciting week ahead including a visit from Nottingham Fire Service on Monday and Tuesday and a tennis coach workshop on Wednesday.

Here is what we are learning about next week...

This is what we are learning about next week...

Another brilliant week in Year 2 with the children creating some fantastic work. Only 5 more sleeps until Beaumanor. All the staff are very excited for the trip and we hope the children are too! Don't forget to check your mail for your postcards :-)

We were very excited to discover a crash landing in our woodland area.

However, the aliens were no where to be seen!

Please let us know if you see or hear them!

We thoroughly enjoyed Character Curriculum day on Thursday.

We linked the different characteristics with our alien friends using top trumps.

After giving the aliens different scores for each characteristics such as empathy, trust and creativity we thought about what score we would give ourselves.

We have had a wonderful start to our new term and everyone is settling in to their new classes well.  We are all awaiting the arrival of a spaceship full of aliens who have been asking us for directions in order to visit.  We have been telling them about the continents and oceans of the world and then closer to home, the landmarks they would encounter in the local area.  Fingers crossed they will come soon...we will put out the posters we have made on Monday and keep looking to the skies...
