Class Homework

Due in: Friday 19th July 2019

As you know, the children in Year 4 have been doing lots of work relating to plastic pollution and its effects on the environment.

They have written speeches which they have read out to children in Years 2 and 3 and are in the process of writing letters to organisations to persuade them to use less plastic in their packaging.

We are also making a year group display to showcase the work the children have been doing on this topic.

The homework task this week, therefore, is to produce a leaflet or poster to persuade people to reduce their use of plastic for the Year 4 display.  You will need to use some of the persuasive techniques we have practised in literacy and include some facts you have found out from your research.

Your poster or leaflet needs to be colourful and eye catching so that it stands out on our display.

A merchant can place 8 large boxes or 10 small boxes into a carton for shipping. In one shipment, he sent a total of 96 boxes. If there are more large boxes than small boxes, how many cartons did he ship?

Remember to keep practising your times tables alongside your usual weekly homework.
