Clubhouse
The Clubhouse is a dedicated, nurturing provision within our school designed to support Key Stage 2 children with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Our primary focus is to provide an adapted curriculum that enables all children to develop both academically and personally, with an emphasis on embedding independence and developing key life skills.
Within the Clubhouse, we place a strong emphasis on learning to learn. Children are supported to build confidence in their learning behaviours, including listening skills, focus, and resilience. We also work on general independent life skills to prepare children for future success both in and beyond school.
Core curriculum areas are taught at stage-appropriate levels. Children access White Rose Maths tailored to their level of understanding, alongside Little Wandle phonics to strengthen their reading and decoding skills. Common exception words are regularly practised to build reading fluency, and handwriting development follows a consistent programme of letter joins. Creative sessions such as Drawing Club are also used to enhance vocabulary, comprehension, and imagination.
All learning is delivered through structured, engaging inputs, with sensory breaks incorporated throughout the day to ensure children can regulate and remain ready to learn. Speech, language and communication development is woven into all activities, ensuring children continually build their expressive and receptive language skills. Physical development is another key element, with regular lessons designed to develop gross and fine motor skills.
Through this carefully balanced approach, we provide children with the personalised support they need to thrive, promoting both academic progress and personal growth in a supportive and inclusive environment.
