Lots of Easter activities planned for this week, with the Easter trail and Easter parade on the Friday. We hope you have a fantastic 2 weeks holiday and look forward to seeing you all in the summer term.
Don't forget that this week on Thursday is 'Come read with me' in F2... pop in when you drop your child off and stay for 10 minutes to share a book with them.
Over the next two weeks our topic is 'People Who Help Us'. We are looking for any parents who might have jobs that helps people (doctor, nurse, firefighter, paramedic, vet etc) to come into our classrooms to talk with the children about their job. The children would really love it! Please speak with your child's teacher if you are interested. Thank you
We have had a lot of fun this week...
We have learnt all about road safety and what we should do when we need to cross the road safely.
It has also been World Book Day this week and we have been doing lots of different activities around school. On Monday we enjoyed taking part in a drama workshop led by Sprouts. Then on Thursday we dressed up as our favourite book characters and enjoyed reading our favourite stories with the Year 3 children. Then on Friday we all loved the performance about Fairy tales performed by the Hobgoblin Theatre Company. Here are some pictures...
Welcome back, after a lovely week off!
We have lots going off this week...don't forget parents evening Tuesday 5th March and Wednesday 6th March. If you haven't already booked a time with your child's teacher please arrange a time to see them asap. Also don't forget it is also world book day on Thursday 7th March and the children can come to school dressed as their favourite book character.
If you would like to know what the children will be doing this half term please read our curriculum letter on the website and also the paper copy your child came home with.
Just a reminder also, that we seem to have a lot of jumpers, P.E kit and cardigans going missing, therefore, could you please make sure your children's clothes all have their names inside them.
As we are currently doing gymnastics in the hall this half term, could you please ensure that you child comes to school with the correct kit; shorts and a T.shirt.
For out door P.E your child requires; jogging bottoms, T.shirt, Jumper and trainers or plimsolls.
What a fun packed fantastic half term we have had in foundation. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to another after the holiday. We hope you have a lovely peaceful relaxed week and if you fancy doing lots of reading please take some pictures and bring them into school when we return, as we would like to celebrate the reading we do in school and at home by producing a reading display.
Take care, have fun and we will see you on Monday 25th February.
We've had a great week celebrating Chinese New Year.
This week we are continuing our topic on traditional tales and reading the story Goldilocks and the Three Bears...We might even make some porridge!
Thank you for coming into school this week, whether it be to enjoy a school lunch with your child or to join in our 'come and read morning 'on Thursday.
The children have really enjoyed sharing this time with you and we really value your support.
WOW! such a lot has happened this week in school and we have had so much fun. We have learnt about different faiths and cultures and tasted lots of different foods from around the world. We showed off our lovely traditional clothes and even learnt an African dance! We also made bracelets of different coloured beads to represent all the different religions around the world.
On Friday we went to see the pantomime; Dick Whittington at the Juniors and dressed in character costumes.
We laughed, clapped and sang along to the songs!....pictures to follow.
We have had a great time being scientists this week and investigating ice.
Don't forget to read our curriculum letter to find out what we are learning about in F2 and also please use Education City to consolidate the learning we do. There are a variety of activities to complete every week that help the learning we do in the classroom.
Don't forget it's Faith and Culture Day on Thursday and your child can come in clothing that reflect their faith and culture. We would love your support in the classroom if you are able to offer your expertise in the faith and culture you practice. Also we would love to celebrate the day by trying different foods from around the world so any donations would be much appreciated.
We have had a lovely first week back, learning all about the winter season and the story Frozen.
We are all looking forward to our 'Frozen' parties next Friday (18th January). The children can wear something blue or a Frozen costume on the day. If you have any questions about the day please come and talk to your child's class teacher.
