Spring 2019

Week beginning 14.01.19

Here is a flavour of what we will be getting up to this week.

Focused Writing - Our focused writing will be based around The Dancing Bear by Michael Morpurgo.  This week we are writing a first person account from the point of view of Roxanne in the story.

Literacy - Our literacy this term is based around Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.  We will be writing a playscript and a persuasive letter.

Science - Our topic this term is Sound.  We will be carrying out different activities to further investigate how sounds are made and how they travel.

Geography - Our topic is based around chocolate.  We will be finding out the type of climate needed to effectively grow cocoa beans.

Please ensure you read for at least 10 minutes every day and record in your organiser.

Remember to keep practising the spellings provided in your spelling homework folder.  This week we will be looking at adding -ation to a word to change it from a noun to a verb along with some words from the Year 3/4 spelling list (these can be found in the back of your organiser).

Check the homework tab later in the week for the first pieces of class and maths homework.  The maths homework which will also give details about what your child has been doing this week and what they will be doing the following week.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your continued support.
