Week Beginning 8th July 2019
This week has been another busy time in Y6; we have been learning about earthquakes (how they are caused, common locations, different affects and information about the different Richter Scale measurements) and we have been learning how to draw using a 3D effect - the children created some fantastic images.
As you can expect, we have also been practising for our production of Oliver. We can't wait for the parents to watch it on Monday and Tuesday night - we are sure you will be impressed.
Important information regarding the productions next week. All children are expected to attend both shows, regardless of which cast they are in.
All children to come in their costume, unless we are providing it for them.
If you are not attending, please make arrangements to collect your child from school at 8:15pm at the year 4 door; children are not allowed to walk home by themselves at this time.
Just a reminder about tickets – due to fire safety regulations, every person attending must have a ticket, including children and babies.
If you have any further questions, please contact your class teacher.
Thank you for your support.
Week beginning 1st July
Sports Day was a huge success - well done boys and girls for competing in your last one at primary school.
What a busy week you have ahead of you...
Good luck to ALL of you during your transition days. Go and show your new school how fantastic you are. We can't wait to hear all about it on Monday (INSET day Friday).
Please please please bring in your Oliver costumes for Monday. One final week of rehearsals before the big shows! Tickets are now on sale!
Week beginning 3rd June 2019
This week we have written tales based upon a warrior scene; there was gore, suspense and lots of imagination! We have also started our topic of Humanism in RE - this week focussing on world views.
The highlight of this week has to be starting our production of Oliver - the singing is already outstanding; we can only imagine how amazing it is going to be in a few weeks time!!
You have until Friday 28th June to design a front cover for the Oliver programme. Have a look at some ideas below:
Congratulations Year 6 you have finished your KS2 SATs! We are so proud of you all and the effort you have put in this week!
We have announced our production: OLIVER!
Auditions will be next week. Monday- 6SC and 6HC and Tuesday- 6RN and 6CN
Practise the lines and come and have a go
Next week is the final week before half term (Don't forget Friday is an inset day), we will be writing non-chronological reports about Wollaton Park and continuing our work on the heart in science.
Make sure you bring in your consent forms for Conwy if you haven't already done so.
Enjoy your weekend and a well deserved rest!
This week, we have been writing our sea rescue stories - the children have used some fantastic figurative language and punctuation for effect! We have also been doing lots of SPAG blast ready for next week. In science, we have learnt all about the heart and how this pumps blood around our body.
Next week is SATS week! The children have all worked so hard and we are incredibly proud of them. We know they will have a successful week and shine. Please ensure they have an early night and breakfast each morning - we need their brains fully charged to showcase their true potential.
Enjoy the weekend!
Team 6 :)
This week we have been writing descriptions of storms- some fantastic figurative language! We have also looked at using co-ordinate grids in geography and how to sketch in detail in art. Science was fun (if a little messy), creating samples of blood- can you remember all the components?
Next week, we will be writing narratives, continuing to develop our cricket skills and having our last maths booster session.
Enjoy the three day weekend!
:) Team 6!
Summer Term Begins (23.4.18)
A great first week back at school and we really hope you enjoyed it. It was great to get the iPads out and explore garage band and I know the whole year group really enjoyed practising some important cricket skills.
Next week, we plan to continue to prepare for those all important tests coming up, we'll try and avoid saying the actual word because you have heard it enough. Also please remember our Geography trip to Wollaton Park next Friday. You will need a packed lunch and suitable clothing/footwear.
Enjoy your weekend and see you bright and early Monday Morning. :)
