Week Beginning 23rd November
Here are some of the things we are learning about this week…
Literacy-We will be joining in with the rhyme Incy Wincy Spider.
We will be hearing stories about a silly little spider called Anansi too.
Phonics-We will be adding our own sound effects to go with our favourite rhymes.
Maths-We will be playing games to practice our positional language. We will be using the clever maths words: next to, in front of, beside, behind, under, over, below, above, around, on, off, top, outside, inside.
Topic-We will be learning some spider facts and finding out why spiders are useful friends.
If your child is self-isolating at home, here is some of the work that we are doing at school this week:
Literacy- You can watch a story about Anansi the spider here…
Can you share this rhyme together? You might want to use props to make your performance even more exciting!
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall (bump, crash, bang)!
All the King’s horses and all the King’s men (gallop, gallop, gallop)
Couldn’t put Humpty together again (boo, hoo, boo, hoo, boo, hoo).
Maths- Can you find the biggest box you can. Print off the maths word cards and ask your child to …get in the box, stand next to the box, go behind the box!
Can you find some facts about spiders? We will be learning why spiders are useful – can you find out why?
You might like to have a go at some spider craft. Here are two ideas for you to try at home.
