This week we are going to be learning about how to write labels, lists and captions.

We are going to be writing our labels, lists and captions to help Mrs Lambert this week and other parents who are about to have a baby.

Topic

This week we are learning about the different stages of a human's life.

We will be thinking about each stage and how we change as we move through the stages. The children will be thinking about what stage they are in, what they can do in each stage and things they must learn to do.

Day 1 -

Today we are going to learn about and talk about what you were like as a baby.

At home look at a baby pictures of you and watch the short video clip about how we change from babies to adults.

Think about when you were a baby. What were you like? What could you do?

Has anyone got a baby brother or sister? Can they do the same things as you? Why/why not?  Why do they need lots of help?

Today you are going to begin your ‘How I have changed’ circle. The first picture is going to be of you as a baby. You could add a sentence using ‘When I was a baby I could…’

Other Activities

  • Baby in a pram collage
  • Act out the different things a baby can do and the things you can do now
  • Paint/pastel babies

Day 2 -

Today we are going to be comparing babies to what you are like now.

Think about what your learnt about yesterday and how you have changed.

What can you do now that you are older?

What do you still need help with?

Now you go to school, could you do that when you were a baby? How has your day changed from being a baby to now? Think of things you do need anymore like a nap during the day.

As we get older we notice and experience new things.

What have you done recently that you would have been brave enough to do if you were smaller?

Today you are going to add to your ‘How I have changed circle’ by drawing a picture of you now and writing one thing that you can do now that you are older than an a baby.

Day 3 -

This week we have been thinking about you when you were a baby and now that you are older. Today we are going to be learning to name and talk about the different stages in the human life cycle. Look through the human life cycle slides and talk about each stage. What do you do/not do at the different stages?

Today you are going to create part 3 the adult and part 4 the elderly of your ‘How I have changed circle’.

Draw a picture of each. Write something that each can do. When I am older I would like to…
