This week is a little bit different to usual as we will be completing NFER reading tests. Please do not worry about them; they are simply used for your teachers to check what you already know and what you need to learn to be even better readers J
This week, we will be looking at place value:
Geography - To recognise the human and physical features of Wollaton.
Science – To compare how things move on different surfaces (friction investigation)
RE – To understand what a Sikh is and who they worship.
Music – To build a repertoire of French songs.
ICT – To know how to log on, locate key programmes and have an understanding of internet safety.
Games – (Netball) To be able to move into space and be aware of positioning of team mates and opposition.
PE – (Gymnastics) To develop flexibility, strength, techniques, control and balance.
French – To introduce colours in French
DT –To research and investigate existing products.
PSHE - To know that drugs can be harmful to people.
These are this week's spellings (depending on which booklet you were given):
Homophones – words that sound the same but are spelt differently.
High frequency words
A little reminder - please fill in your organiser each week so your teacher can check that you have been doing lots of reading at home. Make sure you ask your parents/carer to sign it too J
You should have been given your first lot of exciting junior school homework!!! The green book is for class homework and the green folder is for maths homework. Class homework is due in every other week (so it's due on 25/9/20) and maths homework is due every week (so it's due on 17/9/20). You can of course bring it back in early as soon as you have completed it - look for the homework trays in your classroom.
As always, please speak to your lovely teacher if there are any questions you have – we are here to help! The Year 3 Team
P.S. Reminder for next week: next week (week commencing 21/9/20), you will be making sandwiches in DT! Please bring your ingredients for your sandwich in a labelled plastic bag/small box. It would be helpful if you could separate out any items that may need to go into the fridge. Your teacher will let you know which day you will be making them/what to bring. Thank you
