We have lots of exciting activities for you this week and we are looking forward to another fantastic week in Year 3. As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher via email or speak to them at the beginning/end of the day.

This week we are learning to plan and write an Ancient Egyptian story. The objectives we will be covering are:
To create a Topic themed word bank
To plan an Ancient Egyptian story
To write an engaging story
To use different types of conjunctions
To make inferences about a character’s feelings, thoughts and motives for their actions
This week, we will learn how to use written methods for division. We will also be learning to solve problems using division.
To use the written method for division
To explore what a remainder is
To find the remainder
To solve word problems involving division
To use the four operations to solve problems
Keep using TTRS to try get your class into the top 100 classes! Keep a look out for any competitions!
To picture what life would be like for early settlers (settling around the Nile).
To know how shadows are formed.
Advent. To know how Christians celebrate advent.
To know what to do if I witness bullying.
To draw and recreate Ancient Egyptian designs. (Hieroglyphics – Ankh. To continue to improve mastery of art and design techniques including sculpture eg clay tablets).
To develop drafting and editing skills in Word (week 1 of project – presenting their work).
To understand how to work as a team.
To practise marking one player.
To understand the role of a goal keeper.
To create a sequence by using travelling and controlled balances.
To recap the colours in French.
These are this weeks spellings, depending on which booklet you have been given by your teacher.

Another little reminder to please fill in your organiser each week so your teacher can check that you have been doing lots of reading at home. Make sure you ask your parents/carer to sign it too.
