Hello and welcome to this page all about homework and spellings. Here you will find all the spare homeworks we are using in Year 4.

Every week your child will be expected to do homework! This will vary week to week but will generally follow the following guidelines:

1) There will be a piece of topic related homework. This may be in the form of a matrix of choices or something specific

2) There will be a piece of maths. This is designed to consolidate the children's learning and keep you informed at home as to what we've been up to

3) Reading. It is a school expectation that your child will read, either to themselves or to a grown up, for 10-20 minutes every day. This then needs to be recorded in their organisers and this will be checked every week by the class teacher.

It is worth noting that homework will be given out on a Friday and will be due in the following Thursday. Any homework not completed may require your child to miss a portion of their playtime to complete it, so please help your child understand these deadlines and maybe talk to them about creating a routine and best time to do homework. We would suggest do it when you get it, then you can relax. 

There should always be paper copies of spare homework in your child's class but, if not, please find copies below for you to print out at home.
