Early Reading and Phonics Policy

Learning our letters and sounds plays a fundamental role in how our children learn to read.

From nursery age, children will begin their phonics journey listening for and learning new sounds.

Each year the children will learn new phonemes and graphemes to help them read and spell.

This term, we are beginning to use the 'Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised' programme to teach phonics.

Below is the link for the website.  There is a 'For Parents' area and it has really useful resources to help support your child.  There are videos to help with the sounds - these are very useful.

have a browse and please ask if you need any help.
