Spring 2020

Week 3 - beginning with 20.01.2020

This week, we will be:

  • planning our own newspaper articles in English.
  • learning about Skara Brae and the importance of farming for Stone Age people in History. 
  • discovering the importance of bones and creating our own skeletons in Science.

 

In Maths, all classes are learning about fractions. Miss Robinson's class class are beginning to understand the parts of a fractions. Miss Henninger and Miss McGarvie are learning how to make tenths and solving problems involving fractions. Miss Hill and Mrs Frost's maths class are looking at tenths and fractions of amounts.

 

Reminder: On Friday, we have Pantomime! (Oh no we don't!)

Week 2 - beginning with 13.01.2020

This week, we will be:

  • looking at features of newspapers in English.
  • investigating stoneage artefacts and what they were used for in History. 
  • learning about herbivores, carnivores and omnivores in Science. 

 

In Maths, all classes are learning about data handling. Miss Robinson's maths class are looking at pictograms. Miss Henninger and Miss McGarvie are learning about unit and non unit fractions. Miss Hill and Mrs Frost's maths class are data handling and venn diagrams. 

 

Reminder: Faith and Culture Day in on Thursday 16th January. If you would like to contribute food or come in to teach the children about something in your culture, please speak to your child's class teacher. Don't forget to wear your celebrations clothes.

Week 1 - beginning with 6.01.2020

This week, we will be:

  • analysing and writing instructions in English.
  • researching the Stone Age and creating fact files in History. 
  • discussing how to eat a balanced diet in Science. 

 

In Maths, all classes are learning about data handling. Miss Robinson's maths class are looking at tally charts. Miss Henninger and Miss McGarvie are looking at pictograms and answering questions using them. Miss Hill and Mrs Frost's maths class are using pictograms to answer reasoning questions. 

 

Reminder: Faith and Culture Day in on Thursday 16th January. If you would like to contribute food or come in to teach the children about something in your culture, please speak to your child's class teacher.
